Rockhouse releases next video in Series One
One of the most well-known classic rock tracks, Carry On My Wayward Son from Kansas
Interesting facts about this song:
Released from the band’s fourth studio album Leftoverture (1976). The song became the band’s first Top 40 single, reaching No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in early 1977.
It was the last, last song to be submitted for…’Leftoverture’…When it was recorded, the band didn’t really think it would be a hit, as it was about six minutes long…Kansas was on the road in December 1976 when their manager said: ‘Well, you’re not gonna believe this, but we actually have a hit song.’ We said, ‘What?’ He said, ‘Yeah. “Carry On Wayward Son” is shooting up the charts.’ And it barely made it on the album!
Why did Rockhouse choose it?
Carry On is one of those classic songs that requires everyone to really be in sync. With the many starts and stops, and interesting arrangements, it was a perfect candidate for Rockhouse. The harmonies, guitar work, and keyboard work all kept us on our toes. We’re happy with the end results, and look forward to giving it a go live. Enjoy!
